When the group practice that Dr. Cloutier was working for went up for sale, so came the desire for him to evolve from associate to directing the next phase in his dental career. "It was time to start fresh, redefine my goals, and move forward with a plan that reflected my vision," comments the Doctor.

Allsbrook Dental is located in the seaside community of Parksville, BC. With the help of Designer Tanja De Roeck, a coastal theme became prominent in the design and spirit of the new office. The building's two-level construction reflects its previous life as an industrial space but works well in accommodating a population dominated primarily by retirees. The ground-floor operatories offer easier access to the handicapped and patients with reduced mobility. "Overall, the design is just more patient friendly," comments the Doctor. On a clear day, its upper level operatories give a stunning view of the nearby Lasqueti Island and the Strait of Georgia. A generously sized skylight floods the upstairs landing and downstairs reception space in natural light where granite countertops, a fireplace, and leather seating offer up warm and welcoming design elements. Vibrant, local artwork creates a nice accent on the walls throughout the office. The seaside mood is also reflected in the wave that is graphically incorporated in the glass-etched Allsbrook's logo. Production is up because of our 5 operatory spaces, with options to expand to a 6th operatory in the future…not to mention, being my own boss is a definite plus!"

Field Sales Consultant Kathy Anderson offered her advice and expertise during the project, introducing Dr. Cloutier to Henry Schein's Business Discovery program. "These meetings bring our specialists together with dentists," explains Kathy. He also stepped into the digital age of dentistry with the addition of Sirona's XG5 digital pan. Dentrix and Digital Imaging Specialist Maralee Miller provided guidance with their Dentrix practice-management system.
